screw the plot holes. I enjoyed the film nonetheless. I saw the film(and most of you did) to see robots bashing each other. sure there were inconsistencies, but what did you really see the movie for?

If that is the case its interesting. Though if it adds to this pictures faults I don’t think I could be tempted into checking it out.

Is there more than one version playing in cinemas??
I took my son to see it when it first hit the screen and I did notice alot of the points raised in this review but it was entertaining and the little bloke loved it.
Then I went and saw it again with the boss and a few colleages from work a few weeks later.
But it was noticably shorter as in a number of scenes had been cut short or were just plain gone. Which in turn seemed to add to the films faults.
Anyone else notice this?

What an utterly pointless thing to write. I don’t know what is more stupid:

To slate someone for offering an opinion on a site called Cinema Verdict or contradicting yourself by saying there’s no sense bitching about the film on the internet. What is the sense in you even bothering to comment then?

The film was disappointing and I agree with the reviewers thoughts. I had looked forward to feeling the same thrill that I did after the first one but Bay just threw in more explosions and more robots and hoped that quantity would mask the lack of quality.

You can have too much of a good thing, presuming robots fighting each other can really ever equate to good. Though as I mentioned the first movie was a great summer flick, but it had more than robots beating on each other – and that my friends feels like the difference.

I have liked the Transformers since I was a kid. This was a very good movie and does not deserve the hatred it is getting. The movie is not setting out to get an Oscar, but to entertain the people who actually know about the Transformers. I’m tired of people saying the film is for the brainless. It’s robots fighting eachother, have fun and enjoy it! F**K THE “CRITICS!”

Likewise, I enjoyed the first movie and was looking forward to this sequel. While the spectacle was bigger, the storyline was a dud. Megan Fox was eye candy as always and wished she had a more active role in the movie. The same goes for Shia who’s running away from the robots the whole movie got old fast. Just total waste! Like you, I really wanted to like this movie but it was such a mess I just couldn’t wait for the movie to end and at two and a half hours long, it was a grueling wait. If only the next Harry Potter movie would come sooner to make me forget this mindless bore.

Unfortunately for Princess Leia’s stepdad, I completely agree with everything you said in this review.

I am a huge Transformers fan and loved the first movie. I had high expectations coming into the sequel but left this movie utterly disappointed. Continuity is hindsight; plot holes and inconsistencies abound; and Bay’s attempts at humor are puerile at best. Nonetheless, I’m heading to the theaters a second time to see if I can fill in some of the gaps- the visual effects are so mind-blowing that by my own fault, at times I was too engrossed in the action that I might have missed parts of the story.

I like Bay movies but he really messed this one up and I don’t think I’ll be able to forgive him for disrespecting my favorite childhood comic heroes. (Especially his reducing Bumblebee to a minor role.) Needless to say, I’m excited just thinking about a third movie- hopefully Bay and company will make a more concerted effort to develop a plot that is as equally exciting as the special effects. One request before I end this: dump the twins. They’re beyond annoying.
