The drivel presented is nothing more than a tradional hollywood bullshit story that any hack with a computer and microsoft word could pull off. I did like it a bit better than "Nights in Rodanthe", though. Despite the flaws of the screenplay, I think "Last Chance Harvey" is a worthwhile rental just for Hoffman and Thompson. “Something’s Gotta Give” is a rather apt comparison, yes. You seem to be watching the movies that I want to see. I only knew about this film because they were both nominated for Golden Globes. Otherwise, it will be one of those movies that's at the theater for a week and then gone so I don't know if I'll find it playing near me. It's sad because it stars two of our finest actors, at the same time, it's a generic middle-aged romantic movie I'm thinking of Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson in Something's Gotta Give or Diane Lane and Richard Gere in that movie that came out last year. Oh well, I have to put this movie on my list to watch on DVD. On a side note, I too, find social gatherings tiring especially among strangers or people I don't know well and trying to make small talk. Another great review Clark!
