Brett Ratner is positioning himself to direct the fourth installment in Eddie Murphy’s Beverly Hills Cop franchise. The tentative plan calls for a 2009 production start for a 2010 summer release. I know Paramount is making a truckload of cash off Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but throwing more money at Eddie Murphy, whose recent track record has produced flop after flop, may not be the most sound business decision. We’ll see.
