We recently had the pleasure of visiting Amalgamated Dynamics, the design studio of Academy Award winning creature effects designers Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff. While Alec was off on assignment, Tom was nice enough to spend some time talking about his career and more specifically the latest film in the Alien / Predator franchise — Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem — better known as AVPR. What does is take to craft these creatures from scratch? What was is like working with HR Giger? And what does the future hold for the Alien, Predator, and AVP franchise?
